As I look around this surreal landscape
Getting desperate to find a home
Trying to find the perfect planet
Three of its many moon are rising
Strange creatures looking like rocks
Not a hospitable place to stay alive
Maybe the blue planet will be better May 3, 2004 Poetry © Jan Haile Clark

With its constantly changing shape
Ever vigilant for dangers lurking there
Not wanting to be caught unaware![]()
So that we don't live in a dome
I've been sent to find us a place
That will give us growing space![]()
Where we can live without threat
Hope that this will be the right one
I'll land by the light of the setting sun![]()
And the colors are very surprising
Wind blowing through purple trees
Carrying green dust in the breeze![]()
Making loud noises like ticking clocks
Other creatures with great long teeth
Fat horns above and spikes beneath![]()
I don't think anyone could survive
Now to leave and give my report
This planet comes up very short![]()
With all the clouds it must be wetter
Know it's inhabited by people like us
Making it easy to blend without a fuss
