OCTOBER

October makes its presence known
In the many colors we are shown
Oranges, reds, yellows, and gold
Glorious hues bright and bold

Through air so crisp and clear
Honking of geese one can hear
Leaves falling from the trees
Float and swirl in the breeze

Harvest moon sits low in the sky
As wispy clouds go scudding by
Growing longer are the nights
Brightened by haloed lights

The logs blaze in fireplaces
Glowing softly on our faces
To fight a chill in the air
Make hot cocoa we can share
