You know all the scriptures
Have a bible within your reach
But when it comes right to it
Do you practice what you preach?
You can have the biggest fit
Say the Spirit's come into you
But is the love of the Spirit
Reflected in what you do?
Anyone can spend time in church
Shout and roll upon the floor
But when the Last Day is here
Will you go through Heaven's door?
You can proclaim near and far
Shout out your love of Christ
But what for Him have you done
When for you, He gave His life?
You think you can lecture others
About the wrongs that they do
But before you can look at them
First you have to look at you.
You can damn all the sinners
Tell them they're headed south
But what have you done lately
Besides running your mouth?
You call yourself a Christian
Spend all your days in church
But while you're in there praising
Can you be doing the Lord's work?
Boasting of your good deeds
To show the Spirit is within
But why show it to the world?
You should be proving it to Him!
You can memorize the bible
Quote it from front to back
Don't use it directing others
But improving how you act!
Take a look at yourself
And not what others do
Because when He comes
Will He be choosing you?
