RECURRING DREAM

I have this strange recurring dream
With you and I lying next to a stream
Beneath a huge weeping willow tree
Through whose branches no one can see

Sweet scent on the breeze does waft
We speak together in words so soft
Lie face to face just holding hands
Talk of walking through desert sands

Clouds come in like an angry swarm
The boom of thunder, a sudden storm
Startled, I jump up and look around
The rain's relentlessly pouring down

It becomes as black as darkest night
I'm overcome with a terrible fright
In a silent moment a tinkling I hear
As I turn around you just disappear
