THIRST

A hungering thirst comes over me
I've had this need for all of eternity
Sleeping during hours of daylight
Go out to feed in the dark of night

Silently soaring above the trees
The scent of prey on the breeze
Will I have success or miss my mark
I must feed soon, while it is still dark

Taking care of my needs I do first
Which is quenching a terrible thirst
Then to dirt of my homeland I return
Stay out of sunlight so I won't burn

What better way this curse to end
No more on blood would I depend
Face the rays of the morning sun
And with this living death be done
